Jewelled cities spread out below, scattered treasure
Strings of lights move along in pearly procession
Rising higher, the carpet of cloud is laid
Covers for sleeping land and restless waters
Where the sky is dying fire and darkening sapphire
Into the night, flying....

Still waters, still air, beauty all around
Magic enfolds us, enchants us and we are drawn in
This mystical place, full of unseen presence
Little islands resting on rock beds, guardians of the lakes
The green mountain and the red mountain
Strewn with the sparkle and fire of autumn
Colours that burn in the mind
Falling leaves like gold, covering the forest floor
Gnarled trees like trolls and elven hair gossamer-white on the wind
Mosscovered stone, houses for the little people
And Lothlorien, at the meeting of the waters
Quiet bliss and splendour
Enchantment, old and serene, pure and glorious
We walk here in reverence of this otherworld
Nowhere before as magical as this
The Lakes of Killarney
